  4. This post is pretty interesting, even more when we know that we are what we eat daily. Unfortunately, as one of the 21st century’s children, we are used to eat in those evil junk food industries, making them grow bigger while they make us fatter and sicker more and more all the time. All those pertinent pictures are hiding the same message: As sheep ( or even pigs ) we continue this unhealthy diet which is only causing us mental and physical pain for 5 min of “addictive deliciousness”. The first lady’s speech was so correct, and rapping at the end was a good idea to send the message by all ways.. Videos are showing us only what we try to ignore, chemicals are the only things that go in our stomachs and sometimes, when your child’s already obese, it can be too late if you don’t react. That is the key: Reaction. Reaction against those industries that are making money by ruining our metabolism ( that’s why Ronald deserves to be caught by the police). By eating their enemies, healthy and nourishing foods, we will be in better shape. By making them our best friends, vegetables are the real key.. The only thing that should be done is stop closing our eyes and start reacting before our we gain another dozen 😜 !

    • That is exactly what the unit is about. Realizing that the food you eat has consequences on you, the environment, your health and the people around you. As soon as we realize that there is a problem, we can do something about it!!!

  5. I really liked this post! Michelle Obama’s speech was so inspiring and interesting! Those videos really show us teenagers that it’s not about eating what we like. Nowadays, we all like eating junk and unhealthy food but we don’t think about the consequences. The message that these videos deliver is so strong. The rapping is a really good way to convince not only adults but also children and teenagers. We have to react because it’s not about our bodies it’s about our health!

  8. All these documents are so effective. Today’s teenagers and people in general adore eating this kind of food (junk food). It is one of the biggest health problems in the 21st century for the humanity. People are getting sicker and sicker while they eat those hamburgers that contains a lot of sugar, sodium, fat… As time goes on, people die because of serious diseases (diabetes,cardiovascular diseases). We all have to fight againt these giant companies that are killing us and using our money. We have to eradicate this illness and eat slow food to be healthier, to help our agricultures and our community.

  9. I’d just like to say a word about Freegansim.
    This expression comes from “free” and “vegan”, well, just in hearing that you almost know what it’s about.
    The freegan are against capitalism and refuse to participate to the economy by buying food in the supermarkets. They live off what people call “waist” and I found them very dedicated.

    To my mind freegans are open-minded people, they know how to live simply. They really care about poor people and show solidarity towards them.

    The supermarkets are selling “perfect” (for the eyes) food, which is very expensive and exclude those who can’t afford “beautiful” vegetables or fruits. This makes me sad and mad sometimes. I feel guilty because I can afford this food and I’m participating unconsciously to that unfair system.

    I’m not saying that I could be a Freegan because I do like my comfort of life BUT there’s a solution, I think, and it’s called slowfood !

    In my opinion SlowFood represents the future of eating : It’s healthy, and fair because you buy local products and help the little farmers to get richer.

  10. I think people should realise how bad junk food is. It’s not just unhealthy but it also has a bad impact on the environment. When you eat something, the taste is not the most important, you need to see first if what you’re going to eat is composed by chemical substances or it’s natural
    Secondly, fast food is not the only problem, each year tons of healthy food is thrown because it’s not perfect. That’s really not fair: many people are hungry and they want to eat what some people call “waste”. In my opinion, freeganism is a good movement that we all need to support.

    Supermarkets and food factory’s… stop throwing away clean food.

We’re not called human or mister or miss but consumer. Did you see how we changed ? They are people suiciding just because they didn’t find the last M and M’s candy. We’re are now just machines that eat and eat and buying throwing away and buying and throwing away again. Don’t we see that is our lives that we are squandered ?

  12. The second video about the hidden dangers of junk food really makes us realize that we can’t be healthy if we are eating junk food. Junk food have a negative impact on our body and it contributes to the development of many diseases. Hamburgers, sodas… are full of chemical components. Seeing that an animal doesn’t want to eat junk food or also that it aspect (french fries) doesn’t change through the years makes us open our eyes and realize what we actually eat when we are eating this type of food.
    When we see this video, we understand the real dangers of junk food. We just want to react and to say stop to all of this ! We become more conscious, we want to change our way of eating: more healthy food and less junk food. Of course, this is a sentence that we always hear but this video showed the importance and justified these words that we didn’t use to take seriously.

  13. We all know that junk food is not usually very healthy and we need to be aware how much we are eating junk food. The second video about the hidden dangers of junk food is a good exemple to show us how bad is fast food. One of the problems is calories. Teenagers need more calories than adults because they’re still growing up and tipically more active, but I also know that not everyone get a choice about what they eat. Families that don’t have a lot of money don’t have as much choice about what to eat, so junk good is bad for our health and we don’t have to eat to much of it.

  15. All those videos and pictures are hiding the same message : the dangers and the consequences of junk food . I think that people should realise how bad junk food is , for me it’s an addictive substance , I think if we eat it once a week or more, we may be addicted to it.
    The message that deliever the second video is so correct , we see clearly that junk food have a negative impact on our body , so we need to stop eating this king of food because sometimes we must be already obese, fatter… and it can be to late to change that if we don’t react as soon as possible. Now , the only thing that should be done is stop closing our eyes and start reaction !
    The video is so inspiring and intersting to convince adults and also teenagers , we have to react , to change our way of eating and finnaly to take this problem seriously because it’s all about our healthy !

  17. The junk food has a negative effect on our health. The second video is about the junk food and it makes us know that it’s very bad and also dangerous for our body. So this video shows us like exemple that even an aminal doesn’t want to eat a hamburger because it’s not good. The first problem of this junk food is calories that make the person obese. This video is a trick to share a massage that the junk food is also fast food and we have to change our way of eating. We have to eat healthy and to avoid all food with a lot of calories or sugar or salt and sodas …. All the teenagers adore eat junk food like McDonald’s and fast food (it’s very delicious 😌), it’s normal, but preferably they have to eat it once a month.
    Finally, this video tell us the true meanning of the junk food and we know that this kind of food it’s not healthy.

  19. The second video shows us the dangers of junk food. In fact, by showing examples like the components of this type of food that are nothing more than chemicals or even the fact that animals are rejecting junk food, the video tries to convince us about an idea that we are already aware of but that we don’t want to face. The dangers of junk food aren’t a secret anymore, everybody knows it’s impact on our health which is very bad but we still eat it while we have this idea in mind. This behavior won’t take us anywhere, we need to stop just talking and start acting. Stop promoting junk food restaurants and start promoting healthy restaurants. Stop going to junk food restaurants and start going to healthy restaurants. More generally, Stop eating junk food and start eating healthy food. And, if you, me, us change our behavior, the situation will change.

  20. This video is really interesting, it reminds us of the dangers around us : in our unhealthy food habits.
    The value of the video is the different information, numbers, experiences and advice that it gives.
    Firstly, they began talking about the fattest nation in earth : the US, this country’s situation is catastrophic : two out of three of the population are overweight !
    In fact ,the hidden reality in our food is dramatic, because today we are used to eating junk food without realizing that it makes us fatter and sicker. The problem is, junk food (burgers, fries, soda, ice cream … ) have a negative impact on our body. Unfortunately, McDonald’s burgers contain nothing except chemical components, a big amount of sugar and fats : all of these go in our stomachs, and can lead to chronic diseases. Eating this food is destroying our health, we are victims of mass consumption. This is why we should replace junk food by home-made food, it’s cleaner and healthier ,because at least you’ll know what’s in it.
    The situation is serious and we should change our food choices so we can change our future.

  21. Freegans are the people who live off the food that the others call waste. They are very dedicated to their way of eating. They refuse to participate to the economy by buying food in the supermarkets: instead of buying expensive food because it respects the norms, they prefer to eat the discarded food that they found in the bins.
    As far as I am concerned, I think that it’s a point of view that can be respected. By doing this, not only do they reduce the waste of food, but they also support the people living in poverty who can’t buy food in supermarkets because of the price.
    The thing I liked most in this video is that we have the point of view of different persons: a freegan and a worker in the supermarket.

  22. The video about ”hidden dangers of junk food” is a very interesting video, because it makes us aware of the real dangers of those unhealthy food!

    They said that two out of three of the american citizenry are obese, we all know that America is the first country of the world where there is a lot of overweight people, and this is due of all that junk food that they eat.
    A very high percentage of American like to eat in fast food, because it’s prepared very quickly, it’s ”delicious”, cheap…Unfortunately, people don’t know how those aliments are made of, and the truth is that they are made with a lot of chemical substances, like we saw in the video the exemple of the meat. Those sandwiches that we eat could be kept for ages, they will be in the same shape that the first time we saw them…
    There is another problem in those fast food’s nourishment: calories,(ex: a mc donald’s sandwich is about 600 kcal) so if we often eat a lot of those junk food we would have serious problems on our health: cholesterol, heart problems, we can be obese..
    We need to change our habits, and eat more healthy food, with natural products and stop all those dangerous food because healthy food = good life!

    So stop doing all those bad habits and start a new life to have a good health 🙂

In the second video, we see an example of a country that is the USA, we know that the USA is the country where people eat junk food like fast food (Mcdonalds for example) and hot dogs.   24. I think you need to be aware of how much you eat fast food. But I also know that not everyone gets a choice about what they eat. Obviously, families that don’t have a lot of money don’t have as much choice about what to eat.
    So just try not to eat too much of it or your body will not be able to handle it.

In addition to showing us harmful products for our health, yet present in all types of foods from fast food through canned soups and sodas, the second video about U.S junk food conspiracy shows us that despite the agreements between the United States and 52 European countries to prevent one the first causes of death in U.S : obesity and overweight. Effectively 2 in 3 Americans are obese and the situation isn’t going to change if we don’t put all our hands in the dough and change our food habits and teach our kids how to eat healthy and be “a healthy mind in a healthy body”.

  26. The video about the freeganism is actually great; we can understand clearly the meaning of this concept and the point of view of different people.

    In the first part of the video, freegan people are explaining their life style: they never buy food from the supermarkets; they choose to eat the wasted food that they find in the bins, or they also choose to grow their own food. The freegan people are against capitalism and refuse to participate to the economy by buying food.
    I believe that freegan people deserve an absolute respect. In fact, when they eat wasted food instead of buying it, they protect the planet, and they also support and show poor people that they can have free food.
    In the second part we can understand that supermarkets and restaurants throw tons of food. And this situation is due to the fact that they have to give perfect food to the customers; because the customers won’t understand the imperfection of nature and will throw it away.

    That’s why we should know how to eat, we have to buy the quantity that we need without wasting it, and we can also buy imperfect food as long as it’s edible. If we manage to eliminate waste, the billions of poor people in the world won’t be hungry any more…

  27. Slow food can be considered as a solution for the future. It is good because of its great quality in addition to the fact that it’s healthy. It is also clean an fair because the production does not harm the environment and the producers are well paid. Slow food contribute to the development of local products and the enrichment of farmers.
    The slow food movement is very interesting. It is based on developing community gardens where people could grow their own healthy, clean, organic and fair food. The main idea is to change the way of eating of people: Slow food can educate people how to really love food and appreciate it by being in touch with it. If we just tell people to eat healthy food instead of junk food, they won’t do it.

  28. When I saw all the videos about slow food, I loved the concept of the organisation to be honest. I didn’t know this organisation before. It encourages to preserve traditional and regional food and encourages framing plants, seeds and livestock characteristic of the local ecosystem. It attracts my curiosity and I went to the web to learn more about the organisation and their objectives. One of the them : lobbing against to use pesticides. All their objectives are very interristing and really support this organisation. 😀

  29. The idea of slow food is pretty interesting, it can be the key of all the problem.
    They are preserving the local food cultures and traditions and also protecting the biodiversity.They have a good quality of food and they don’t harm the environment. Slow food movement is also giving value to small producers which is very important, I loved the concept of bringing people together and to protect the traditions because now a lot of people dont pay attention to the tradition.
    They are against the Mc Donald and all the fast food, and they encourage the mouvement of healthy food . The second producers in the video said :” the quality of food is the quality of life” which is true , we should pay attention to what we eat to have a good health: a good life. I hope that this concept will continue because it would help all the humanity and bring smile to our dish.

We saw in the second video that Mcdonald’s burgers never decompose and their fries too, so we can suppose that what happens when we eat it. The man in the video does an experiment, he tries to give a burger to a cat but he refuses to eat it. So if a cat didn’t eat it why would human’s eat them this is the question and i think the answer is because the burger are cheap and accessible for the poor and rich. people.
